Ronan Country Fibers' Shetland Sheep Flock
Shirley is a beautiful grey/blue and always gives us twins. She is one of our most friendly girls. Shirley had a difficult delivery with Gotland twins in 2007. The vet was able to save the lambs and Shirley but she will be retired from breeding.
Mary is a beautiful morrit color. She should have been named something much less calm as she is a wild girl.
But then, Mary, Mary quite Contrary does fit!
We have between 25-30 Registered Shetland ewes on the farm at any given time. We love the friendly personalities and fine beautiful wool. We recently began using the Shetland sheep as the foundation stock for introducing Gotland sheep to North American.
We have Shetlands with the full range of fiber types accepted in the North American Shetland Sheep Association: long and primative, short and crimpy,
in shades of white, cream, fawn, grey, brown and black.
