RCF Livestock Guardian Dogs
Livestock guardian dogs are an important part of our Angora goat and sheep operations. Our 100 acre farm is in a very rural part of Southern Oregon and is shared with coyote, bear and the occasional mountain lion. We use several teams of dogs that live with the goats and sheep and have never had a loss to predators.

This is Bruiser (above), a Maremma/Great Pyr/Anatolian cross. At 2 years old, Bruiser sired a litter of 13 puppies with Mary. Both Bruiser and Mary are now fixed and we still have 5 of the puppies born in 2006. These young dogs are following in their parents footsteps and are excellent LGD's who will be ready to replace our aged dogs when the time comes.
Johnny (above) and Bongo (right) guard the sheep. Johnny is a Great Pyranees. Bongo is now a 3 year old Maremma/Pyranees/Anatolian cross; a full brother to Bruiser. Johnny's favorite things in the world are cookies and baby lambs. It's best to get his OK before trying to visit a newly born lamb
Pogo and KD (Killer Dog); Great Northern Pyranees watch over the Angora bucks. KD is now somewhere between 12-13 years old and still gets around pretty good. Pogo is now about 7 years old. KD is an excellent trainer for new dogs and pups.
Buddy (above) came to us as an unemployed dog when his owner sold their animals. He was without a job for a year. He was very excited and happy to have his job back and is very loyal to the herd. Mary (below) and Buddy are purebred Italian Maremmas.

Bongo is showing his "smiley face" to the camera (above).  This is a sign of submission, not a sign of aggression.  You will definately  know the difference!
